“Ukrainian officials said Wednesday that at least 22 people were killed and 134 wounded in Kyiv after one of the deadliest Russian attacks on the capital since the war began more than three years ago.”
Russia has now suffered over one million military casualties in its war against Ukraine, according to data released by Ukraine’s General Staff on June 12 and confirmed by the UK Ministry of Defence. The figure includes killed and wounded personnel since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022 and reflects the catastrophic cost of the Kremlin’s aggression.
The pace of losses is accelerating. In the first five months of 2025 alone, Russia has sustained over 200,000 casualties—more than 1,200 per day. The toll for 2024 surpassed 430,000. These numbers reflect the Kremlin’s preferred tactic: mass frontal assaults against entrenched Ukrainian positions, from the Donetsk front to Vovchansk. Moscow is throwing bodies at the problem—because it has nothing else.
“Russians damaged trolleybuses, the power lines, utilities, and industrial facilities. All these are ordinary objects of peaceful life. The ones that should never be targeted,” said Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
On the night of 6-7 June, Russian forces conducted an extensive overnight assault on Ukraine, deploying 215 weapons, with the most extensive damage caused in Ukraine’s second-largest city of Kharkiv.
The attack resulted in three civilian deaths and 21 injuries, including an infant and teenage girl.

Protect Ukraine Now has set up a page to facilitate US Citizens to call their elected representatives and urge them to continue support for Ukraine:
Our immediate priority is ensuring that Ukraine retains access to the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) beyond September. Currently, about $6 billion in crucial military aid is at risk, if action is not taken promptly.
It is imperative that the Biden Administration swiftly delivers remaining PDA-authorized weapons to Ukraine. We urge you to contact your elected officials consistently, both through written communication and phone calls, until Ukraine receives the necessary munitions.
