Ukraine will produce thousands of long-range drones capable of deep strikes into Russia in 2024 and already has up to 10 companies making drones that can reach Moscow and St Petersburg, Ukraine’s digital minister said.
A Russian drone attack struck a gas station in Kharkiv, creating a large fire that engulfed 15 residential homes and killed 7 people, including three children, local authorities reported on Feb. 10. Over 50 Kharkiv residents have been evacuated.
The investigation into the damage and the type of weapon used in the attack is underway. According to the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, Russians hit the suburbs of the city.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that the missile strike killed a 56-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man.
The victims lived in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv, on the first floor of the house that was destroyed in the attack on January 23.
Russia has lost 373,600 troops in Ukraine since the beginning of its full-scale invasion on Feb. 24, 2022, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported on Jan. 18.
This number includes 780 casualties Russian forces suffered just over yesterday.
